FFA, NRD joining forces in water testing project PDF Print E-mail
Area residents who are served by a private water well can get a free testing for coliform bacteria and other possible drinking water contaminants.
The Imperial FFA and Upper Republican NRD are joining forces in a new “Test Your Well Night” project.
Free kits are now available from FFA Advisor Jason Speck at Chase County Schools. Water samples then can be submitted for a “testing night” on Tuesday, April 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the ag room.
Speck said this is a new project his chapter is taking on, and several other FFA chapters in the state are also doing it.
Some of the kits were handed out at Saturday’s FFA banquet/program.
Interested residents with private wells can contact Speck at the school, 882-4304, to request a kit. The samples must be retuned to the school by April 28, with results available the next day.
