A firearms instructor who has been to Imperial before for classes will be back the end of this month for a class on use of a weapon in home protection.
It’s a new class being offered in Imperial, said Chris Tomky, who is coordinating the registrations for instructor Justin Grusing, owner of Nebraska Shooters in Firth, Neb.
The class titled Personal Protection in the Home will be held Sunday, July 28, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Participants must have already completed the NRA Basic Pistol class and successfully passed the exam to take the home protection class, Tomky said.
Topics covered will be how to protect oneself in the home and the legalities involved. It is more indepth than the basic pistol class, Tomky said.
If there is enough interest, she said Grusing will also hold another concealed carry class that same weekend on Saturday, July 27, in Imperial. A minimum of 10 people is needed to hold the concealed carry class.
Registration deadline for both classes is July 24. Call Tomky at 308-883-6513 for registration and cost information.
