Imperial’s Ron Milner Field will serve as the host field for this year’s Area 7 Junior Legion baseball tournament July 12-16.
This year’s bracket includes five teams with Shelton/Gibbon coming in as the top seed.
Ainsworth comes in as the #2 seed, followed by Hershland (Hershey-Sutherland), Overton and Imperial.
Due to cancellations throughout the season, Imperial didn’t have the necessary 10 games to be considered for seeding. As a result, they come in as the #5 seed.
Action kicks off Friday evening when Ainsworth and Hershland face off in the 5:30 p.m. MT game.
As the host team, Imperial will play the late game against  Overton at 8 p.m. MT Friday night.
On Saturday, games kick off at 1 p.m. with the first loser’s bracket game in the double elimination tournament.
Shelton/Gibbon will make their first appearance Saturday afternoon against the winner of the Imperial-Overton game at 3:30 p.m. MT.
Two games will be played on Sunday, with a consolation game at 3 p.m. MT and the winner’s bracket game at 5:30 p.m. MT.
The victor in the winner’s bracket will get Monday off while another team will fall from the tournament in an elimination game at 5:30 p.m. MT.
The championship will be decided Tuesday, July 16, beginning at 5:30 p.m. MT. If a second game is needed, that will be played immediately after.
The winner of the area tournament will advance to the state tournament in Wakefield.
Admission will be charged during the tournament. Adults will be $5 with students and Veterans $3.
Brad Moline will serve as tournament director.
