The Nebraska Wheat Board (NWB) will hold its annual budget meeting today (Thursday) and Friday at the Frenchman Valley Coop offices at 202 Broadway, starting at 8 a.m.
Items to be discussed include selection of contracts and a budget for the fiscal year 2013-2014, a strategic plan update, NWB policies and procedures, reports from NWB board members, upcoming events and travel.
The public is welcome to attend any open portion of the meeting except an executive session slated to start at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, which will be closed to the public.
Doug Ohlson, general manager at the coop, said he plans to sit in on some of the two-day meeting here, as will Ryan Schultz, grain division manager, and Cliff Church, chief financial officer.
The meetings are scheduled all day Thursday and through lunch on Friday.
The Nebraska Wheat Board administers the 0.4 percent check-off of net value of wheat marketed in Nebraska at the point of first sale.  The board invests the funds in programs of international and domestic market development and improvement, policy development, research, promotion and education.
