Sisters place second, third in Pitch, Hit, Run at Coors Field PDF Print E-mail

Josie, left, and Morgan Peterson finished second and third at the Pitch, Hit and Run Team Championships at Coors Field last Saturday. The sisters, competing in the age 13-14 and 9-10 divisions, moved on to the third level of the baseball skills competition after both won the local contest in Imperial, then had scores high enough at the state contest in Omaha to compete at Coors Field. This is the third time Josie, a CCS freshman, competed at the Team Championships where she took first both times before. It was fourth grader Morgan’s first appearance. The competition tests accuracy in throwing, distance in hitting and a timed run from second base to home. Only the top three point-getters in the Denver Rockies’ market advanced to Coors Field last week after comparing scores from state contests. The competition was held before the Rockies/Padres game Saturday. The girls are the daughters of Bruce and Crystal Peterson of Imperial. (Courtesy photo)
