All those who voted for their favorite youngster in the Cute Baby Contest at Imperial’s Alco Store have also helped support the food pantry in Imperial.
Earlier this year, Alco conducted its third annual contest with about 20 youngsters entered, said Store Manager Jill Fiedler.
People visiting the store could vote for the favorite youngster by placing cash in individual jars which featured photos of each youngster. All of the money collected, which totaled $359.35, was donated the past week to the food pantry.
Landon Baird, the 14-month-old son of Todd Courter and Megan Baird, was the highest vote-getter, and is this year’s Cute Baby winner. He received a $25 Alco gift certificate.
Youngsters up to two years of age could be entered in the contest, Fiedler said.
She noted the Imperial store will again have the contest next year, with voting early in 2010.
