Details for fair’s photo contest announced PDF Print E-mail

Budding photographers have the chance to show off their work again at this year’s Chase County Fair.
The deadline for the fair’s Open Class Photo Contest will be Monday, Aug. 4, and this year will feature new categor­ies.  
The contest is open to anyone 16 years of age or older. The categories are agriculture, children, storm and action. Color and black/white will compete together, according to contest chair Stephanie Stromberger.
Participants can enter only one photo per category at $5 for each entry.
The photos must be 8 x 10 inches and matted on an 11 by 14 inch black mat, available at The Imperial Republican. No frames will be allowed.
The photos must be suitable for family viewing. They will be displayed in the 4-H building on the fairgrounds.
The photos must be entered at Fine Things Jewelry and Gifts or by mailing them to Chairman Stephanie Stromberger at 73301 322 Ave., Champion, NE 69023.

Cash prizes will be awarded for the winners. The Best of Show will net $75; first place, $40; second place, $30; third place, $20 and fourth place, $10 in each category.
