Museum to feature heritage preservation PDF Print E-mail

On June 9, Chris Fidler will discuss photograph restoration at the Chase County Museum in Champion.
As part of the museum’s Sunday presentations, Fidler will discuss photograph choices, scanning to computers, organization and restoration.
“If it was good, it can be good again,” Fidler said of old photographs. Computers can enhance and detail old photographs.
Fidler said photography has been around for about 120 years to the mass consumer, and those really old photographs need to be identified and saved for future generations.
“We’re losing them fast if the information isn’t passed to the next generation,” he noted. Fidler supports donating copies of the photos to the Chase County Historical Society.
Fidler will be showing examples of “before and after” photo restorations.
The museum will be open from 1-4 p.m. June 9. Following Fidler’s talk, refreshments will be served.
