The owners of Twist And Shake, in the past known as Sweden Creme, chose the new name because they want to emphasize their ice cream business.
But Jan and Kip Bremer will be selling more than that. Burgers, hot dogs, chili cheese dogs, onion rings and more are featured on the menu.
The Bremers purchased the business at 1134 Broadway in March 2012 from Imperial Credit Union.
Joe Carlson, who previously was a chef at Brickstone Sports Bar and Grill, will be the manager, with 11 employees.
The Bremers have remodeled the dining room, adding new flooring and paint. “We want to offer a nice, clean, friendly, enjoyable atmosphere,” Jan Bremer said.
A jukebox in the corner will add to the festive atmosphere.
Twist And Shake opened Monday to serve ice cream a few hours per afternoon. Once the operation is up and running, hours will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.
