For the first time in recent years, Chase County Schools held a kindergarten graduation Tuesday afternoon. Sixty-four students celebrated the fact that next year they will be first graders.
Elementary Principal Pat Lane opened the ceremony following the Pledge of Allegiance, by telling the children that they might have cried the first day of school, but now they can read, write and add.
After singing several songs, the students were presented diplomas.
