As of 4 p.m. Tuesday there were only two more days in which to pledge money to fund production of Nick and Tyler Talbott’s new album, due out this summer before the brothers appear at the Chase County Fair.
Through Kickstarter, a way to fund creative projects, the Imperial natives hope to raise $4,000 by 3:48 p.m. EDT May 24 to pay for producers, engineers, studio time and distribution.
As of Tuesday morning, 38 backers had donated $3,682. If the $4,000 isn’t raised, the project won’t be recorded.
However, Nick Talbott said Tuesday that the group has already hit the studio and tracked some of the album. “We figure we’re so close, and we have some friends who have talked about pledging,” he said.
$318 to go.
The Talbott Brothers chose Kickstarter as a way to involve people who help fund the album. For set amounts of donations, those pledging receive things such as a digital download of one acoustic demo track from the album, a digital copy of the album and a signed hard copy, or a house concert.
