Chase County Schools was represented again this year at the Junior High State Track Meet last Saturday in Gothenburg with nine athletes.
In order to qualify, the athletes had to be in the top 24 statewide in their running or field event, based on times and marks submitted by coaches to the athletic.net website.
All athletes in seventh and eighth grades at the state meet competed in one division.
While nine girls from this year’s Shorthorn team competed, there were others who had qualified but could not attend the meet.
