The third annual Biggest Loser Contest, sponsored by Adams Bank & Trust of Imper-ial, benefitted many people.

It benefitted those who lost weight and became healthier. It benefitted The Gift, which received $646 from the contest.

And, it benefitted the winners, who received gift certificates.

First place went to Ryan Wisnieski, who lost 19.61 percent of his total weight. Second place went to his wife, Megan, who lost 13 percent of her total weight.

They said they lost weight by increasing their exercise and cutting back on calories.

Ryan received a six-month subscription to Farm Kids Gym and Megan received a one-month subscription to the Women’s Gym.

Third place went to Lynette Meeske, while fourth place went to Carrie Waide.

A total of 65 participants lost 322.5 pounds this year. This is the third year Adams Bank & Trust and Frenchman Valley Produce have donated $1 each for each pound lost.

This year’s recipient, The Gift, is a project set up to help those needing financial help in the community. A board directs the placement of donations given to The Gift.

Project coordinator Mary Wilson and chairman Carma Sazama said the Biggest Loser contest will be  held again next year. “The more we have participate, the more money goes to the organization we chose,” Wilson noted.

This year participants weighed in at the bank from Jan. 2 to April 30.
