Local residents had a chance to express their concerns, ask for help in wading through the federal bureaucracy or just get information from Congressman Adrian Smith’s Mobile Office.
Actually the mobile office was Ag Specialist Ken Rahjes, who met with constituents Tuesday at the Chase County Courthouse for about an hour, and stopped by several other offices in the city.
His day started out with the Chase County Commissioners, with whom he visited.
Also on his schedule was a stop at the Imperial city offices to discuss economic development and other issues.
He met with School Supt. Brad Schoeppey and Chamber President Jana Pribbeno.
Rahjes, who lives in Elwood, said Smith or one of his aides try to visit each of the 75 counties in the congressman’s very large Nebraska Third District at least once every two-year term.
He said the congressman is trying to work out a schedule to visit southwest Nebraska again to assess the continuing drought issues affecting area producers.
