Home meet won’t be rescheduled

He tried his best.
Chase County Activities Director Troy Hauxwell tried to find a date and time a third time for the Chase County track meet, but it just wasn’t possible.
Originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, it was postponed due to poor weather forecasts. Rescheduled for Monday this week, 30-degree temps and wind forced it to be called off again.
Now, it’s just cancelled.
Hauxwell said they would have liked to get the meet in, but finding a date without conflicts proved impossible.
Several of the coaches from other schools said they probably wouldn’t be coming Monday again due to forecasts, worried about injuries to athletes as conference meets approach. Some said they’d possibly just send JV athletes.
That left few competitors in many of the events, Hauxwell noted, so the decision was made to call it off.
Too many other events already scheduled at CCS and other schools made it impossible to find a third rescheduled date, Hauxwell said.
On a brighter note, forecasts look excellent for the junior high track meet today (Thursday) in Imperial starting at 9 a.m.
Hauxwell said about 12 schools now will be attending, with some new additions to the original group of teams. Some of those schools haven’t had a meet yet, so called Chase County and asked to attend.
