Outgoing mail time changing on weekdays PDF Print E-mail

Starting Monday, April 29, Imperial residents will need to get mail to the post office a half hour earlier if they want it dispatched that day.
Imperial Postmaster Jerry Lines said mail will now be dispatched at 2:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, a half hour earlier than the current 3:15 p.m.
The dispatch time on Saturdays will not be changing. Lines said that time will remain at 2:40 p.m. if dropped in the outside mailbox.
Lines noted the change is to assure that mail trucks leaving local post offices meet the transportation schedules at the North Platte Post Office. Apparently, some of them, at times, weren’t getting to North Platte to make the outgoing service there.
All post offices in the Panhandle (northwest) and southwest Nebraska are moving up their weekday time schedules, Lines added.
