Turkeys may be looking for more cover as shotgun season opens PDF Print E-mail

Nebraska’s shotgun turkey season opened last Saturday (April 6 for youth shotgun hunters), and that may cause area birds to seek a little more cover until the season concludes May 31. They’ve had to deal with hunters for several weeks already, however, since archery season opened March 25.  This pair of turkeys was spotted last Friday morning near the Eskew place along the Frenchman River, about five miles southwest of Imperial, and just off Avenue 331.
