Word was received mid-morning Wednesday that three athletic events set for today (Thursday), and involving Chase County athletes, have been postponed due to weather forecasts.
The high school track meet at Grant Thursday has been moved to next Tuesday, April 14. It will have the same start times, with field events at 9 a.m. and the running events starting at 10:30 a.m.
The Bayard Golf Invitational set for Thursday has been called off, with a possible rescheduled date later in the season.
It’s the second postponement for the Bayard golf meet, which was originally set for Tuesday, but was moved two days later to Thursday after the weekend snows.
Chase County was scheduled for its first junior high track meet this Thursday at Dundy County, but that meet also was postponed until Monday, April 27. School officials in Dundy County indicated they may need to alter the schedule of events, but will announce those changes later.
Announcement of the postponements came from CCS activities director Mark Bottom.
The original information about these contests in the sports section this week was printed before the postponements arose.
