The second of two defendants attempting to rob the Farmer’s State Bank in Wallace has been sentenced.
Drew A. Steier, 21, of Evanston, Wyo., was sentenced April 8 in Lincoln County after entering a no contest plea. The defendant must serve one-and-a-half to three years in prison for his crime of attempting to rob the bank on Aug. 13, 2012.
Steier’s accomplice, Tracy N. Black, also of Evanston, was sentenced on March 25 to serve the same amount of time behind bars.
Steier had walked into the bank alone wearing a mask and wielding a BB gun. Upon demanding money, he was told by a bank teller that the money was locked up in the vault. He left the bank empty handed, and he and Black drove out of town in a Ford F-250 pickup heading toward Imperial.
The men were stopped and taken into custody north of Imperial about an hour later.
