Historical Society introducing new events at museum this year PDF Print E-mail

The Chase County Historical Society held the first meeting of 2013 last week at the Lied Imperial Public Library.
Topics for the coming summer were tenatively set, including some new events.
Some of the society favorites, such as the popular ice cream social, will be coming back. Members are also hoping to have the Chase County version of Antique Road Show, where people can bring an item to get background and appraise the value.
New this summer will be the Wedding Day Remembered. Anyone having a dress or something to show over 50 years old is asked to call Diann Schilke at 882-5700, or other board members.
Interest is growing about the cattle drives and their routes that crossed this area. A popcorn day will be quite warming to all one Sunday this year.
Cleaning will start in mid-April if you would like to help. Member dues are set the same as the past year and can be paid at the building in Champion.
Members are very excited for the coming summer and visiting about “the good old days” with friends. The museum will be open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
