Kasselman takes third at Bayard golf meet; team finishes fourth PDF Print E-mail

Sophomore Freddie Kasselman paced the Longhorn varsity golfers in their opening meet at Bayard April 2.
Kasselman put together rounds of 40 on the front side followed by a 42 on the back side of the nine-hole course to finish third with an 82.
He was just five strokes out of the first place score of 77 shot by Trae Blanco of Bayard.
Coach Larry Munger said his team struggled with consistency and penalty strokes. They just need to build some confidence.
Sophomore Ryan Moline finished with a 94 on rounds of 48-46. He was the only other golfer to keep in double digits as the team finished fourth with a 395 total.

Munger’s jayvee team played at the Dundy County-Stratton meet in Benkelman on April 2 as well.
Cody Cochran led the team with a 104 on a pair of 52s.
The team finished eighth out of eight teams with a team total of 482. Cambridge won the meet with a total of 360.

Chase Co. Invite Saturday
The Longhorns will hold their invitational tournament Saturday at Enders Lake Golf Course.
In addition to the CCS varsity, other teams include Perkins County, Sutherland, Hershey, Ogallala and McCook.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
The Longhorns were scheduled to play Tuesday at the Lexington invitational. However, the event was postponed due to weather.
The Longhorns may play in the Medicine Valley invite at Curtis set for today (Thursday), depending on the weather.
