The spring play presented by Chase County Schools April 29 is “Dancing With the Olympians,” a spoof on the popular television series “Dancing With the Stars.”
Director Jill Bauerle said that due to students’ scheduling conflicts this time of year, “I must choose a play that has some flexibility and mostly minor roles.” However, she added, “Each actor will be playing a unique character and can make his or her role over-the-top silly, dramatic, tragic or humorous.
Bauerle said she hopes the actors learn something of Greek mythology and have a great time preparing for the audiences.
“There isn’t much dancing!” she added.
The characters are all gods, goddesses, muses and furies such as Zeus, Poseidon, Athena, Nike, Hestia, Hermes, Aprhodite, Hades, Persephone and more.
The cast includes Maddison Vaverek, Justus Wallin, Trey Milner, Tapainga Kahle, Korey Krutsinger, Dan Sullivan, Calen Griffin, Brittany Peters, Cassie Burpo, Tyler Jennings, Emma Bauerle, Jake Lueth, Paige Spady, Claire Kuenne, MaKenna Ketter, Ryan Moline and Valeria Cervantes.
Garret Thompson will be in charge of the set and music.
Time for the performance and ticket information will be announced later.
