The owner of the new Tequilas Mexican restaurant in Imperial said the establishment will open some time next week.
Miguel Esparza said Monday that furniture from Mexico has arrived and will be in place soon.
A waiting area outside the restaurant’s entrance will allow patrons to enjoy the sun while waiting to be served.
Esparza and wife Gabriella Hernandez have operated a Tequilas in McCook for about two years.
The menu in Imperial will be similar. It will feature Mexican fare such as burritos, fajitas and specialty plates, as well as seafood, steaks, grilled chicken and combination plates.
Hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., serving lunch and dinner.
The manager will be Esparza’s brother-in-law Giovanny Hernandez. Kitchen staff has been hired from outside Imperial, with waitresses hired locally.
