Qualifying homeowners can make application for renovation loan money PDF Print E-mail

Southwest Nebraska Community Betterment Corporation is leading an effort to provide some needed renovation to homes in the incorporated communities within their five-county service area which includes Chase, Hayes, Hitchcock, Dundy and Perkins Counties.
Funds provided by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development will be accessible to qualified homeowners.
The housing program, referred to as Owner Occupied Rehab, provides families living at a moderate to low income level who own their homes, a financial resource to complete renovation work such as new windows, doors, siding, roofing, heating systems and insulation.
Where the homeowner falls in the Area Medium Income will determine if the dollar amount of assistance is a “forgivable loan” with no repayment necessary as long as the families maintain the property as their primary residence, or if the loan will be paid back over the next 10 years at 0 percent interest.
Families can qualify for assistance through SWNCBC allowing extensive renovation projects to be accomplished on their homes.  At this time, funding is available for three families to receive up to $24,500 in housing assistance.
Applications are now being accepted for this rehabilitation program.  For more information or an application, contact Southwest Nebraska Community Betterment Corporation at (308) 352-4338.
