What a sport to help the cause . . . PDF Print E-mail

Chase County Schools elementary principal Pat Lane proved himself to be a really good sport in the name of a good cause. For the 8th year, Jody Schuller’s K-6 P.E. classes helped raise money for the American Heart Association with Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart. With pledges and donations, the kids raised $12,800. That was good enough to get Lane duct-taped to the wall of the Shorthorn gym, along with taking three different pies in the face. Had the kids raised $15,000, Lane said he would wear a dress in school all day for a day. At top, second grader Kade Anderson wants to make sure Mr. Lane has plenty of tape across his mouth while kindergartner Navy Smith is all smiles as he gives Mr. Lane the first taste of a pie in the face. The recognition event was held Friday afternoon just before school was dismissed. (Republican photos)
