Snowstorm shocks residents back to winter PDF Print E-mail

Unseasonably warm conditions had been much of the norm this month with 15 days of temperatures in the 40s, 50s or 60s. But that changed last Wednesday and Thursday with a snowstorm that shocked the community back to winter. It meant a lot of snow removal that continued through Friday when the sun returned. Gayle McCormick, below left, was snowblowing out his driveway on Thursday, while Evan and Bryson Fisher, below right, scooped out the driveway of John and Joan Osler. The snow didn’t interrupt Mark Bottom’s regular run, however, as he and his dog jogged along Grant Street. Chase County Schools closed early Wednesday, and all day Thursday and Friday.
