Kids get opportunity to learn about gun safety first hand PDF Print E-mail

Thirteen youths between the ages of seven and 13 are now the proud owners of BB guns after the Southwestern Nebraska Chapter of Pheasants Forever Banquet last Saturday night. Organizer Joe Weiss  (above right) called youths to the front of the room and asked them what they’d be willing to pay for a BB gun if auctioned. After hearing their responses he asked them if they’d like one free. Tom and Cate Weiss donated BB guns to the chapter which were then given to all youths aged 7-13 at the banquet. Their new BB guns will allow them to learn gun safety first hand. Other activities at the 23rd annual banquet included a live auction of 30 items and recognition of sponsors. Approximately 140 attended the banquet. (Republican photos)
