Forty-nine Imperial Chamber of Commerce businesses made it possible for four couples to have a very special pre-Valentine’s Day celebration last Saturday.
As winners of the Chamber’s 2nd annual Rolling Out the Red Carpet event, Amanda Courter, Jamilah Bauerle, Amanda Cross and Jenny Moser and their dates were “wined and dined.”
Each couple also went home with a basket full of gifts valued at hundreds of dollars, all contributed by Chamber members.
After signing up in Chamber member stores several weeks prior to the event, the four winning names were drawn on Feb. 1.
After enjoying a drink at the Imperial Eagles Club, the four couples were chauffeured to the Lied Imperial Public Library for dinner.
The menu for the evening meal included a shrimp cocktail appetizer, salad, ribeye, baked potato and a delectable chocolate dessert. The couples were also served non-alcoholic champagne.
Before leaving, each winning couple was given a basket containing items or gift certificates from local businesses.
Among the gifts in each basket were fluted champagne glasses, chocolates, bottles of wine, hair and nail products, an MP3 player, candles, a crock pot, Chamber Bucks, gift cards and gift certificates. Each couple was also presented a color photograph of themselves to remember the evening.
The Rolling Out the Red Carpet event has been a popular one, Chamber President Jana Pribbeno said. It’s likely the Chamber will make it an annual February promotion.
