Thirty-year-old Wauneta man injured in single vehicle accident on river road

Wesley Morgan, 30, of Wauneta was injured in a single vehicle accident on the river road last Wednesday, Jan. 30, at approximately 4:25 p.m. MT.
According to Sheriff Kevin Mueller, Morgan was driving eastbound on the river road when he met another vehicle. Morgan moved to get over to allow the other vehicle to pass, lost control of his 1995 Jeep Wagoneer and went into the right shoulder.
Morgan’s Jeep then crossed the road and struck a tree head on in the left ditch, spun and hit another tree.
The Wauneta Volunteer Fire Department and Wauneta Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene. The Jaws of Life was used to extract Morgan from the totaled vehicle.
Sheriff Mueller reported Morgan suffered a broken ankle and dislocated shoulder in the accident. Further extent of his injuries were not known.
Morgan was transported to the Chase County Community Hospital and life flighted out for additional care.
Morgan had an expired driver’s license and was cited for no driver’s license. Sheriff Mueller stated no other charges have been filed.
Morgan’s current medical condition is unknown.
