Four Imperial youths are headed to the state Super Shooters contest in March after winning their divisions in the local contest here Sunday.
Jaret Peterson, 6-7, Emmitt Zuege, 8-9, Mallie McNair, 10-11, and Molly Luhrs, 12-13, won their divisions in the basketball shooting contest.
Fifty youths competed in the Longhorn gym, where they had two chances to do their best shooting from various spots on the floor. Each round was one minute, and the best score from either round was used in placing the winners.
The contest is sponsored by the Imperial Jaycees, who awarded trophies for first, second and third. Boys and girls compete in the same divisions.
