Medals and certificates were awarded to 12 top free throw shooters following Sunday’s free throw shooting contest sponsored by the Imperial Knights of Columbus.
The contest held in the school’s Longhorn gym challenged youths to shoot their best of 15 from the free throw line.
A total of 36 youths, 15 girls and 21 boys, competed in separate 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14-year-old divisions.
Several shoot-offs were required after the original 15 shots were taken due to ties.
The first place winners qualified for the district contest also to be in Imperial on Sunday, Feb. 10. Winners from several other towns in southwest Nebraska will also be at districts.
