Sandhills Symphony looking for string musicians PDF Print E-mail

The Sandhills Symphony Orchestra will present its annual spring concert March 17 with “A Touch O’Green,” celebrating Irish music, composers and music inspired by the color green.
Rehearsals are scheduled to begin Sunday at 3 p.m. at North Platte High School.
A regional symphony made up of volunteers, Sandhills Symphony is seeking new members, specifically in the string section.
Conductor Carmen Allen said the wind and violin sections are strong, but she’d like to see another cellist and some viola players.
Rehearsals take place each Sunday up until the concert. There are several Imperial residents involved in the symphony.
The group has performed two concerts per year for over 50 years. The concerts are free, so the symphony relies on donations from patrons for support.
People interested in joining the symphony should contact Allen at (308) 582-4593. Donations may be sent to Sandhills Symphony, P.O. Box 1972, North Platte, NE 69103.
