Charming gifts in a charming space

The Imperial Republican
When you were little, did your grandma ever send you up to the attic to explore on a rainy day? Did you find “treasures?”
Well, The Attic now open in Imperial gives you that sense of discovery. Owned by Stephanie Taylor, The Attic is now open at 1320 Broadway #24 in the former Golden West motel complex.
Formerly located in Champion, the store was moved to Imperial, Taylor said, because there’s more foot traffic. Most of her gifts are crafted by Chase County residents, and include candles, crochet and embroidery items, Christmas ornaments, purses, bookmarks and ceramics.
If you’re a cat fan, there are dish towels embroidered for each day of the week. Need a wreath for the door? Taylor has it.
In addition, she takes orders for floral displays for funerals, weddings, office parties, birthdays and more. At present, Taylor doesn’t have flowers on hand, but plans to add that in the future. She also has plants for sale.
Taylor also sells balloons, gift baskets and candy bouquets.
She welcomes products placed on consignment from local artists. “Bring it down and terms are negotiable.”
Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Taylor’s telephone number is (308) 883-2931.
