Youths in the area can take part in two separate basketball shooting contests this Sunday in Imperial.
The Knights of Columbus-sponsored free throw contest will start off the day at 1 p.m. in the CCS Longhorn gym. Youths age nine to 14, boys and girls, can compete as they attempt 15 free throws.
Youths can begin registering for the free throw contest at 12:30 p.m. in the gym.
Right after the free throw contest, the Imperial Jaycees will host the Super Shooters contest, about 1:30 p.m.
The Super Shooters contest is open to boys and girls ages six to 13, and involves two timed rounds of shooting from various points on the floor.
Youths can participate in both contests, or just one, according to organizers. First place winners in each contest will advance onto the next levels of competition.
Imperial will also be host for the district free throw shooting contest in early February.
