FCCLA students earn gold, silver at districts PDF Print E-mail

Nine Chase County FCCLA students competed in District 11 STAR competition Jan. 16 in Elwood.
STAR is the acronym for Students Taking Action with Recognition.
Five students received top gold and qualified for the state competition April 7-9 in Lincoln.  
The following students received top gold: Abby Polly, “Reclaiming a Historic Downtown,” in Interior Design; Hayley Vitosh, “Jump Start to a Healthier You,” in Health and Wellness; and Jasmine Dannar, Caitlyn Murillo and Tagan Mays, “Child Abuse,” in Family Challenges and Issues.
Receiving silver medals were Mylee and Abby Sorensen, “Premature Birth,” in Family Challenges and Issues; Aleida Marquez, “Eating Disorders” in Illustrated Talk; and Abigail Almanza, “Bullying” in Illustrated Talk.  
Local judges assisting at the competition were Tina Hayes, Lisa Schilke and FCCLA Advisor Cathy Hanna.
