Community Foundation grants $4,000 to SCORE PDF Print E-mail

Committee members of the Imperial Community Foundation Fund (ICFF) recently awarded a $4,000 grant to sponsor the main attraction at this year’s Science Camps Offer Rewarding Experiences (SCORE).
SCORE Director Marla Smith was thrilled with the announcement and is excited about the three-day Strategic Air & Space Museum attraction scheduled for June 10-12.
All students in grades 1-6 at SCORE will spend their first camp day taking in the traveling museum features to include a mobile planetarium, multi-axis trainer, giant shuttle model slide, earth balloon, solar telescopes, robotics and more.
Lori Pankonin, ICFF secretary, said there’s proof that SCORE    is a worthy project and commends how the community binds together to provide such outstanding educational opportunities. Beyond a dedicated staff, SCORE requires a multitude of volunteers, both financially and through time commitments.
The Imperial Community Foundation Fund is an affiliate of the Nebraska Community Foundation.
Students can now register for the June camps online at www.scorecamp.com
