With a freezing drizzle starting Friday afternoon and a forecast for more inclement weather on the way, administrators at Chase County Schools made the decision to postpone the Chase County Invitational scheduled last Saturday.
Monday morning, Coach Matt Vlasin and school administration sat down to try to find a date to reschedule but were unable to do so, resulting in the meet being cancelled.
As a result, the Chase County wrestlers are left with just four more meets before districts are held at Southern Valley.
On Saturday, Jan. 19, the wrestlers travel to Lexington. This meet is notorious for being one of the toughest meets of the season. Wrestling begins at 8 a.m. MT in the high school gym.
The other three meets left on the schedule for the wrestlers include: Medicine Valley Invitational, Jan. 25 in Curtis; SPVA Tournament, Jan. 31, hosted by St. Pats; and the Southwest Tournament, Feb. 2 in Bartley.
Districts will be hosted by Southern Valley this year on Feb. 8-9.
