Champion PO meeting scheduled

A public meeting has been scheduled to discuss a change in the hours the Champion Post Office will be open in the future.
The meeting has been rescheduled for March 12 at 1 p.m. at the Champion Community Center. It had originally been scheduled for Nov. 27, but was postponed due to the reported attack on the officer in charge at the Champion office.
Meetings are being held across the country concerning a cut in hours for many post offices. The U.S. Postal Service is requesting the cuts due to a massive deficit and a loss of revenue.
At present the Champion Post Office is open eight hours a day. The Postal Service is proposing to cut that back to four hours.
A final decision will be posted to customers one week after the public meeting.
As of Jan. 26, hours at the Enders Post Office will be reduced to two hours per day, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on weekdays. Hours will remain from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturdays.
The Enders office had been open six hours per day Monday through Friday in the past.
