Producers of the area will want to put Wednesday, Jan. 16, on their calendars.
That’s the date for the annual Imperial Chamber of Commerce Ag Tech Fair, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St. Patrick Parish Hall at 740 Broadway.
The day will include more than 20 booths and displays, a free lunch and speaker, said Dave Oxford, chairman of the Chamber’s ag committee, which is organizing the event.
This week, Oxford said he was finalizing businesses that wish to have booths/displays up during the day, and had 20 confirmed. He expected a few more, however.
Area producers will have the chance to visit with business owners/reps including crop consultants, seed specialists, equipment dealers and more.
A new feature this year will be a short presentation from SW Four Extension Educator Robert Tigner at 1 p.m.
He will address the topic of crop budgeting in a 30 to 40-minute talk, Oxford said.
In addition, the Chamber is providing a free lunch that day served by the St. Patrick Altar Society ladies. The lunch will be served starting at 11 a.m.
More details on the Ag Tech Fair are being finalized, Oxford said. Watch next week’s Imperial Republican for more information.
