Chamber has commitment to community
By Jana Pribbeno
At the close of yet another year, the Imperial Chamber of Commerce reflects back on 2012.
Again this year, we have seen growth in our membership through new businesses and established businesses joining the realm.
Our mission is, “Working hard to make our community a better place through agricultural development, business promotion and new industry.”
The Chamber members have demonstrated their commitment to the future of our community through their support of and involvement in the community.
Throughout the year the Imperial Chamber promotes the businesses within their organization.
The Promotion Committee plans and implements a host of events during the year such as Roll out the Red Carpet; Chili Cookoff; Easter Egg Hunt in conjunction with the Eagles Auxiliary; the Business Retention and Expansion Recognitions, an awards ceremony which is co-sponsored with the City of Imperial; ice cream social on the last day of school; city-wide garage sales in June; Hot Dog Days of Summer; Popcorn Day; a Thanksgiving promotion; and the annual Christmas Festival.
This year, we added a couple of extra special events as we co-sponsored the Harlem Ambassador basketball game with the Imperial Lions Club and added to the Christmas Festival with live reindeer. Projects like these, with the community in mind, are our way of thanking all of you.
Other committees within our organization are responsible and work hard all year, and include the Ag Technology Fair committee, scholarship committee, Shop at Home campaign and the housing committee
We look forward to 2013 with appreciation to each of you and pride in our community. We hope that you will call on any of our members whenever we can be of service to you.
The Imperial Chamber of Commerce wishes all of you a very prosperous New Year.
