Ten students at Chase County Schools have met the criteria to be named to the 2012 academic all-state list by the Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA).
The recognition comes for a student’s involvement in athletics and other extra-curricular activities sponsored in high schools by the NSAA.
Students are nominated by their high schools, but must first meet the following criteria:
A nominated student must be a varsity player or organizational leader who has played a significant role on the team or in the organization’s activity during the fall season.
The nominee must have a minimum cumulative grade point average in all subjects of 93 percent or A (3.7 on a 4.0 scale).
Two students can be nominated for each NSAA-sponsored activity.
The Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association sponsors the awards.
Chase County’s academic all-state awards went to the following students.
Cross Country—Indy Smith and Alyssa Moreno
Football—Callin Ledall and Michael May.
Softball—Anna Bauerle and Cassie Burpo.
Volleyball—Bethany Sorensen and Paige Spady.
Play Production—Emma Bauerle and Tapainga Kahle.
