| Sixth grade boys’ basketball team completes successful season |

By Jan Schultz The Imperial Republican Members of Imperial’s sixth grade boys’ basketball team have been traveling to weekend tournaments since January. They completed their season last weekend with a second place finish at the Kearney tournament, and a 25-6 record overall. During the two months of play, the team claimed championships at tournaments in Hayes Center, Ogallala, Benkelman, Wauneta and North Platte. Third place finishes came at tournaments in Curtis and Cambridge. They also competed in Imperial’s tourney. Sixth graders on the team included Jeffrey Dickey, Isaac Sorensen, Kelton Fisher, Darin Knobbe, Travis Luhrs, Ryan Moline, Ty Spickelmier, Holden Dreiling, Jacob Christensen and Kevin Chavira. Head Coach was Mike Sorensen. Assistant coaches were Tom Luhrs and Greg Dickey. The team started practicing for the season in November. |
