Christmas stamps now available

Santa Claus is coming to town, but if you don’t buy your postal stamps of him soon, you could miss him.
That’s according to Imperial Post Office Postmaster Jerry Lines, who said Monday that the supply of “Santa and Sleigh” stamps is depleted nationwide.
He ordered 400 blocks of stamps, with 20 stamps in each block, for the Imperial branch. When they’re all sold, patrons will have to purchase other holiday stamps.
However, there are plenty of the “Holiday Baubles,” or ornament stamps, a “Holy Family” and a “Madonna of the Candelabra” by Raphael. There are also Hanukkah, Eid and Kwanza stamps on sale this year.
The stamps are 45 cents apiece, at the current “forever” value.
Lines said he currently has all but the Kwanza stamps in the office.
The U.S. Postal Service has suggested the following holiday mailing deadlines for mail to arrive by Dec. 25:
Dec. 3—Priority Mail: International and Priority Mail: Military APO/FPO/DPO.
Dec. 11—Express Mail International.
Dec. 17—Express Mail: Military APO/FPO/DPO and Global Express Guaranteed (GXG).
Dec. 20—First Class Mail: Domestic.
Dec. 21—Priority Mail: Domestic.
Dec. 22—Express Mail: Domestic.
