JV, C teams rack up wins in season’s last games |

By Jan Schultz The Imperial Republican Chase County’s JV and C team volleyball team each picked up wins in their final games of the season last week against McCook. In the JV match Oct. 23, Chase County won in two, 25-21 and 25-11. The JVs tallied 14 kills and seven hitting errors for a .130 hitting efficiency. Makala Bartels led at the net with six kills. On serves, the team was 45-49 for 91 percent. Emma Bauerle had four of the team’s 12 ace serves. In the C team match with McCook, Chase County won 25-16 and 25-10. The team had 20 kills on seven errors for a .295 hitting efficiency lead by Shaylee Dorn, who had eight kills. At the line, Chase County served 38-46 for 82 percent. Kymberli Rowley had three of the eight aces serves. In both the JV and C matches, McCook finished with a below zero hitting efficiency. C tourney correction Chase County sent a team to a C tournament in Holyoke, Colo., on Oct. 8. The match scores were listed incorrectly. Chase County finished 2-1 at the tournament. The Lady Longhorns defeated Fleming 25-23 and 25-17, and also beat Holyoke in two, 25-18 and 25-9. Chase County’s only loss was to Yuma, 21-25 and 17-25.
