An early morning helicopter air-lifted an Imperial man to Kearney after he suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to local police.
Police Chief Larry Browning said Officer Kyle Hansen was called to the corner of 16th and Park Sts., following a 911 call at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday reportedly made by Dustin Dizmang, 22.
Dizmang suffered the gunshot wound to his head and was in the yard of the home he shares with his mother, Browning said. Officer Hansen called the Imperial EMS, who took Dizmang to Chase County Community Hospital, where he was stabilized.
He was air-lifted from the hospital between 5 and 5:15 a.m.
No report on his condition was known later Wednesday morning.
