Youths get hunting, safety insight with mentors PDF Print E-mail

For another year, the Southwest Nebraska Pheasants Forever Chapter sponsored a youth mentor hunt Saturday during the weekend preceding the opening of Nebraska’s statewide pheasant season. In addition to their hunting experience with older mentors, the youths received presentations or took part in gun safety, shooting blue rocks, a wildlife CSI, a habitat walk, canine health and first aid and pheasant cleaning. Eighteen youths participated in the day’s activities held at Weiss Farms property, northwest of Imperial.
