The Chase County All-Stars 4-H Club from Chase County has been selected as the 4-H Club of the Month for the month of September by the Nebraska 4-H Ambassadors and Nebraska 4-H Foundation.
4-H clubs from throughout the state of Nebraska nominate themselves by explaining why their club should be Club of the Month. Stories about community service projects, trips to museums and other fun activities were shared.
The Chase County All-Stars 4-H Club recently sponsored a Progressive Ag Safety Day for children in their community and surrounding area, and did fundraising and planning. for the event. This is the third time they hosted the Safety Day.
They had 91 children ages six to 14 participate on July 21st. Including Safety Day and set-up the prior day, they had 86 people volunteer. The event took hundreds of volunteer hours by club members, their parents and community volunteers.
Progressive Ag Safety Day is a national program that only accepts specific communities and organizations to participate.
On July 25, the 4-H club volunteered to work a two-hour shift at “Feed My Starving Children.” This event was sponsored to package meals for needy children.
They had 24 members and parents participate in this community service project. For the Chase County All-Stars it was another great experience demonstrating working together, helping others and the power just a few people can have in making a difference.
