Imperial nets State Fair education department winners PDF Print E-mail

Every year the Nebraska State Fair Education Department sets a theme that students use when competing in many categories, with awards given during the state fair.
Art, computer graphics, essay and poetry, math, penmanship, science, spelling, the list goes on.
A number of Chase County Schools students received awards this year for their projects. The theme was “Nebraska: Possibilities...Endless.”
Kindergarten teacher Arlys Cupp coordinates the entries made by the students—this year in grades K-2, one fourth grader and high school science students.
Below is a list of the students and their awards:

  • Kathya Aragon—Art—1st place plaque, 1st place (blue) rosette; Essay—participation ribbon; Penmanship—3rd place (white) rosette; Sweepstakes—4th place trophy.
  • Anahy Diaz—Art—honorable mention ribbon; Essay—6th place (green) rosette.
  • Cooper Dillan—Art—3rd place (white) rosette; Essay—3rd place (white rosette; Penmanship—5th place (yellow) rosette; Sweepstakes—2nd place trophy.
  • Chavelito Frias—Art—honorable mention ribbon; Penmanship—participation ribbon.
  • Zane Mays—Art—participation ribbon; Essay—participation ribbon; Penmanship—honorable mention ribbon.
  • Jason Nelson—Art—2nd place plaque, 2nd place (red) rosette; Essay—4th place (pink) rosette; Sweepstakes—6th place trophy.
  • Lessly Pump—Art—honorable mention ribbon; Essay—participation ribbon.
  • Caleb Richman—Art—5th place (yellow) rosette; Essay—5th place (yellow) rosette; Penmanship—participation ribbon.
  • Iris Robles—Art—participation ribbon; Essay—participation ribbon; Penmanship—honorable mention ribbon.
  • Addison Robinson—Art—4th place (pink) rosette; Essay—participation ribbon; Penmanship—honorable mention ribbon.

  • Participation ribbon—Brendon Pump.
  • High school science display—Mindy Castle, 1st; MaKenna Ketter, 2nd; Emma Bauerle, 3rd; Jodi Koellner, 4th; Makenna Wallin, 5th; Claire Kuenne, 6th. Honorable mention—Mitsy Cardoso, Jessica Hartman, Page Spady.

CCS also received the third place elementary school trophy at the fair. Cupp received the “Apple Trophy” for teachers.
