CCS senior one of three Youth Advisory Council members for Smith PDF Print E-mail

Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) recently announced the names of area high school students who will serve on his Youth Advisory Council for the 2012-2013 academic school year.
Area Youth Advisory Council members include Regan Garey and Riley Garey of Medicine Valley Jr.-Sr. High School; and Justin German of Chase County Schools.
Smith’s Youth Advisory Council is a forum for high school students to discuss throughout the school year opinions, thoughts and concerns with Smith about local and federal issues. Through in-person meetings and other contacts, the council provides students an opportunity for involvement and insight into their government and communities.
The Council is open to high school students who are nominated by their teachers, principals or guidance counselors.
For more information, interested parties are encouraged to contact Smith’s Grand Island Office at 308-384-3900 or visit Smith’s website at http://adriansmith.house.gov/youth-advisory-council.
“The decisions government makes today will have lasting implications for young people. The Youth Advisory Council provides a forum for young Nebraskans to discuss their concerns and thoughts on issues before Congress.
The student participants in the Council have impressed me with not only their knowledge, but also their passion for solving our nation’s problems and improving our communities,” said Smith.
