The city of Imperial is advertising for a new community development director after a resignation was received the past week from Leslie Carlholm.
She and husband, Randy, will be moving the first of October to Syracuse, Kan., where Randy has accepted a position as location manager with Skyland Grain. He is currently the feed division manager at Frenchman Valley Coop.
Leslie said Wednesday she does not have a position at this time.
The Carlholms have been in Imperial for 11 years, and Leslie said she doubts anyone is more surprised than they are about leaving the community.
“We have loved our time in Imperial and appreciate the opportunities we have been provided here,” she said.
She added that Imperial is poised to do some amazing things and they look forward to watching how the community evolves over time.
Her last day with the city is Sept. 28. Randy’s final day at the coop is Oct. 4.
Syracuse, Kan., has a population of just over 1,800 and is located in the southwest part of the state.
